Transferring A License

TRANSFERRING YOUR LICENSE TO ANOTHER PERSON:

As an owner of your license you can transfer your ownership to another person. You can also request a transfer of the balance of your PASS membership. We always have the right to refuse membership however, so please check with us beforehand.
No matter whether you sell just your software license, or your laptop, and/or your encoder, you need to transfer your license to the new owner. The transfer is effected by you doing two things- (i) generating a "kill code" file which you will send to Zengar, and (ii) informing us who the new owner will be. Without this information a transfer cannot be made.

The new owner needs to generate a license code in the usual manner (see above). There is a $50 fee to effect the transfer- you and the buyer may want to decide explicitly who is going to pay that.

To transfer your license:

For each licensed encoder:
Start up NeuroCARE®
Go to Tools menu>Unlicense An Encoder
Select (one) licensed encoder. (It may require a reboot in order to unlicense a number of encoders).
A file called killedlic.txt will be generated, with a single line for each encoder.

This file must be emailed to Zengar to verify that unlicensing has successfully occurred. Without it, a transfer is not possible.

If any error message shows up then please follow all instructions for doing a maintenance on your system. Then try again. If you still are getting an error message, a MouseCall will be necessary. The charge for this will depend upon your PASS status and whether you have fully updated (maintained your system) before doing the call. We will not transfer your license until all debts are settled.

Sending the software CD to the new owner, while a good idea, is not per se necessary. The new owner should always use the latest CD for installation. It is strongly recommended the new owner obtain one from Zengar if the seller's CD is not current. If your system included the Zengar music, that physical CD MUST be given to the new owner, otherwise they will need to purchase a new one if they want their license to include the music. This is to protect the copyright of the composer/musician who licenses it to Zengar.

Please include with the kill license, the name and contact information of the new owner.
